As part of an effort to streamline operations and reduce costs, BMW and Mercedes have teamed up to provide for cost savings on the import of cars into the US.   BMW NA will import and use Mercedes Benz for car preparation for vehicles coming in for delivery to the US through the port of Baltimore.   BMW has historically shipped into Charleston, but with new productions starting at their plant in South Carolina, they no longer have the Bandwidth.  This is pretty interesting to see two bitter rivals teaming up.. This would be like Ford and GM becoming partners.    BMW continues to make some of the finest cars around, much is due to the precision steering provided by the BMW Power Steering Pumps and the superior suspension supported by their BMW Control Arms.
